September ArtWalk Kicks Off Season
MCALLEN, TX – McAllen Library invites the public to see, feel, and hear art during the first ArtWalk of the 2011-2012 season. Art lovers will see original work in all mediums, on display and for vending, in the heart of McAllen’s Arts District. Talented artists and artisans are lining up, and all are welcome to join us Friday, September 2, 6-10PM at 601 N. Main St.
The artists being featured September 2 include:
- Luis Fernando Hernandez Garcia: Realism – oil and charcoal
- Rosendo Sandoval: Regional art – acrylic and pastel
- Veronica G. Cardenas-Vento: Photography
- Roman Gonzalez: Pottery
- Karina Mireles: Glitter tattoos
- FRIDA, Inc. will display their work
Children and Teens will be able to enjoy a hands-on craft of paper flowers.
Also, be sure to visit the New Library Ambassadors’ table. Library staff will be on site to answer questions and offer information about the New Main Library, projected to open in the Fall of 2011! While you’re there, pick up a souvenir or two.
