MPL Ready for October ArtWalk

MCALLEN, TX – McAllen Library invites the public to its October ArtWalk exhibition. Art lovers will see original work in all mediums, on display and for vending, in the heart of McAllen’s Arts District. Talented artists and artisans have been lined up, and all are welcome to join us Friday, October 7, 6-10PM at 601 N. Main St.

The artists being featured October 7 include:

  • Patsy Thurn: Realism, painted fabric art
  • Crissy Mitchell: Regional art, photography
  • Lydia Maatouk and Janie Rodriguez: Abstracts and landscapes
  • Astrid Ramirez Aridjis: Decorative ornaments
  • Ruben Valente: Pen and ink, colored pencil, charcoal
  • Valley Artistic Outreach (VAO) will display their work.

Children and Teens will be able to enjoy a hands-on craft of paper leaf baskets.

Also, be sure to visit the New Library Ambassadors’ table. Library staff will be on site to answer questions and offer information about the New Main Library, projected to open in December 2011!
