TexShare Databases
Access available from: home or the library.
A variety of research databases are available through the TexShare portal of the Texas State Library. We’re happy to share our TexShare connection with you. Contact the reference desk of your preferred library location for the TexShare login and password, then click on the image below:

LearningExpressLibrary
Access available from: home or the library.
LearningExpress offers practice tests, exercises, and information on a range of topics, including the GED, U.S. Citizenship Test, and more. New users will need to register before getting started. Click on this image to proceed:

ResumeMaker
Access available from: home or the library.
ResumeMaker provides tools for resume, cover letter and job interview preparation, as well as guidance for finding a job.

AncestryLibrary
Access available from: the library only.
AncestryLibrary.com is a database of census, birth, death, and other genealogical records. Access to MPL's subscription to AncestryLibrary is available only through an internet-enabled computer at all three library locations. If you are on a library computer now, click on the image below:

- SDL Freetranslation.com provides instant translation service of text or websites in many language directions.

- A comprehensive reference source that combines the contents of an encyclopedia, a dictionary, an atlas, and several almanacs loaded with statistics, facts, and historical records.
- Internet Public Library
- IPL provides free access to a vast amount of information for all ages.
- Medline Plus
- A trusted online resource for medical information, provided by the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.
- Merriam-Webster Dictionary
- The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary is based on the print version of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate® Dictionary, Eleventh Edition.
- Weather Underground
- Find here national and local weather forecasts, hurricane and radar reports, as well as weather conditions from years past.
- FindLaw
- A popular site for free legal information on the Internet with the largest legal directory available.
- IRS: Forms & Publications
- Download and print IRS forms for both the current year and past years.
- McAllen City Ordinances
- Code of ordinances followed by the City of McAllen.
- Texas Law Help
- An online resource for free and low-cost civil legal assistance for those who cannot afford legal help. Learn about your rights, self-help resources, and legal aid.
- Texas Statutes
- Locate articles of law in the Texas Constitution and Texas Statutes code.
- United States Code
- A resource containing the general and permanent laws of the United States, organized by subject matter.
- U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services - InfoPass
- Access InfoPass to make an appointment at the USCIS office in Harlingen, Texas.

- True to its reputation, Google has developed an innovative means to not only locate a business or private address, but to map it and view it from above (satellite view) or at eye level (street view). Enter address, city, and state – and map away!
