How To Find Books
Our online library catalog allows you to locate material (books, CDs, DVDs, etc.) at all three MPL locations.
To find an item, follow these easy steps:
- Log on to MPL's online catalog.
- In the search box, enter the title, author, or subject keyword.
- Click on the “Go” button.
- The catalog will retrieve a list of item titles. Click on the title you’d like to locate.
- Arrive at the item record. Scroll to the bottom of the record for the “Copy/Holding Information” box.
This box contains four bits of information that will lead you to the item you are looking for:

Location – the MPL location (Main, Lark, or Palm View) where the item is currently shelved
Collection – the general section in the library where the item can be found
Call No. – the specific number on the spine of the item
Status – whether the item is checked out, available (on the shelf), or not yet on the shelf
