World Cultures Festival

About the Festival

The World Cultures Festival at McAllen Public Library celebrates the traditions, stories, and experiences that connect communities around the world. Formerly known as the World Languages Festival, the event has grown to highlight culture in a broader way while continuing to recognize the important role language plays in shaping identity and heritage.

Through live performances, storytelling, cultural displays, and interactive activities, the festival invites visitors of all ages to explore traditions from different parts of the world. Community organizations, performers, and cultural groups come together to share music, customs, language, and heritage in a welcoming space that encourages learning and connection.

The World Cultures Festival will be held at Main Library on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 2:00-6:00PM, and brings people together to celebrate the diversity that makes our community stronger while inspiring curiosity, conversation, and cultural appreciation.
