Varian Johnson is the author of numerous books for children and young adults. His books include The Parker Inheritance, which received both a Coretta Scott King Author Honor and Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor, the graphic novel Twins, illustrated by Shannon Wright, and the picture book Little Big Man, illustrated by Reggie Brown.

Varian lives outside Austin with his family.
